„in relation to" is based on a collection of photo slides bought on flee markets in cities around the world: boxes of private photographs which are remnants of household clearances, complete lives that were once cherished and then packed away carefully. Out of these fragments of situations and moments Teresa Schwind and Evamaria Müller selected specific gazes, glimpses of relationships. „In relation to" explores the relationship between the photographer and the photographed. What can we sense about the relation between two people by the interaction of taking a picture? What stories do these pictures tell and how do the glances of the photographed relate to the rest of the artworks in the exhibit? The clicking noise of the slide projector is enhanced and used to vibrate a hanging metallic sheet, the projection surface. The relation between these objects provides an accompanying rhythmic soundscape that wants to suggest the act of blinking by using the medium itself as a trigger.
